19 April 2013 - Wakefield FC v Burscough FC

A night after our debut visit to Nostell Miners Welfare, we were back in West Yorkshire. Our feature, Wakefield FC v Burscough FC. Burscough FC featured previously when we visited New Mills back in February.  Wakefield FC are the footballing tenants at Belle Vue (Rapid Solicitors Stadium), the landlords being [click here] > Wakefield Trinity Wildcats the city's very successful Rugby League club.  Wakefield were in the midst of a depressing run of seventeen matches without a win, the last being the victory over Goole AFC back in January.

09 March 2013 - New Mills v Burscough

Our first venture into the EvoStik Division One North. New Mills AFC on a bitterly cold Saturday afternoon in early March.  "The Millers" visitors were "The Linnets" of Burscough FC. New Mills ended the season in third place, missing out on promotion via the play-offs to Trafford FC.

New Mills is fifteen miles from Manchester. The added attraction after the afternoon at Church Lane, stay behind and add some extra funds for the club behind the bar.  City beat Barnsley 5-0 and went on to the FA  Cup Final.
