David Cryer (centre), The Mascots and The Owls & Blades from The Birley |
A Charity Match at Hillsborough, Sheffield Wednesday in aid of "Justice For Matt", for much further and detailed information, PLEASE click on the links at the bottom of the feature. The teams were Birley Owls and Birley Blades, made up of supporters of both Sheffield clubs from the Birley Hotel public house, located on Birley Moor Road, Frecheville.
A Monday lunchtime kick off, under a hot May sky, we had no idea what to expect, all we knew that this match was a great cause and were extremely proud to be part of the day's events.
The photographs on display are almost all of match action and candid pitchside portraiture. It's not everyday that supporters get to play on the pitch that has graced the likes of Chris Waddle, Terry Curran, Tommy Craig and Derek Dooley. An enjoyable day all around and which we're led to believe carried on back at the Birley Hotel!
