For the second time in 72hrs, Athersley Recreation [Sunday] took on fierce rivals, Redbrook New Inn at a grassroots level Cup Final. For the second time in 72hrs, The Penguins took the Cup back to Sheerien Park.

29 April 2013 - Athersley Recreation v Redbrook New Inn

Not only being content with achieving promotion from the NCEL Division One at the first time of asking, Athersley Recreation FC had also fought their way thru' to three local FA Cup Finals, two to be held at Oakwell, home of Barnsley FC and the the third and final of the finals at Bramall Lane, Sheffield United. This was our first ever opportunity to photograph inside the Oakwell Stadium,  our second followed just three nights later when both teams in tonight's Final would also contest the Barnsley FA Hospital Cup Final.
