29 April 2013 - Athersley Recreation v Redbrook New Inn

Not only being content with achieving promotion from the NCEL Division One at the first time of asking, Athersley Recreation FC had also fought their way thru' to three local FA Cup Finals, two to be held at Oakwell, home of Barnsley FC and the the third and final of the finals at Bramall Lane, Sheffield United. This was our first ever opportunity to photograph inside the Oakwell Stadium,  our second followed just three nights later when both teams in tonight's Final would also contest the Barnsley FA Hospital Cup Final.

Athersley Recreation are in the black and white stripes.

Bill Shankly famously said, "Some people believe football is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed with that attitude. I can assure you it is much, much more important than that". Obviously not as important as answering text messages on her mobile phone!

27 April 2013 - Glasshoughton Welfare v Scarborough Athletic

Scarborough Athletic FC
Northern Counties East League
2012 - Premier Champions - 2013

The final NCEL League game of 2012/13 for Scarborough Athletic. The Champions had been crowned and promotion certain the previous week after their 2-0 victory over Click Here : >> Retford United. This was a day of celebration for the hundreds of "Seadogs" who made the journey to Glasshoughton Welfare, who along with Long Eaton United and Pickering Town were the only three clubs to defeat Rudy Funk's troops throughout the NCEL Premier League season. We'd like to thank everyone at Scarborough Athletic FC for their help and support throughout last season and we'd also like to thank Garry Willis of Glasshoughton Welfare for his help and support on the day.

Players & Supporters United As One

Robbie Hawkes and Player Of The Year, Pete Davidson share a shandy on the Glasshoughton Welfare pitch.

The Scarborough Athletic NCEL story began on 11 August 2007, a 2-1 defeat at Teversal, six seasons later, 27 April 2013 saw The Seadogs lose by the same scoreline at Glasshoughton Welfare.  Promotion from Division One in only their second season and never finishing below 10th place in the NCEL Premier League, "The Seadog Story" will continue into the new season, a new league and hopefully very soon, a new stadium in their home town.

We look forward to carrying on recording through our photography, the success story that is happening at Scarborough Athletic FC.

No Battle, No Victory
